Welcome to the Future Relics Gallery blog. I’m very excited to bring you this blog to share with you what is happening and what events are coming up. My vision for this blog is as a space where artists of various media and style gather to communicate what they are doing and what is happening in the arts community. I would also like this to be pertinent to supporters of the arts so they will want to come visit here.
I’m a humble potter enjoying making art out of mud; if you want to learn more about me or my work please check out the main gallery pages. Part of being an artist is sharing, I will welcome guest blog writers; please send me an email if you’d like to write a post (or a few) for this blog.
One event that has me very excited is a naked raku firing that is scheduled for this Sunday (07/12/09) at Mud Fire Clayworks in Decatur, GA (where I work). I’ve never done this type of firing before; I’m anxious to see how the pieces turn out. I’ve also made two pieces to saggar fire while we are doing the naked raku, just for the variety. Please come back to find out how it goes. Any readers who have done either of these processes should post comments and links to pictures if you have them.
So bookmark this blog, email to a friend/colleague or add our RSS feed, and let’s pump up the volume on news at Future Relics Gallery. And of course, we’d love getting your feedback on art and this blog — and what you want to see discussed (and showcased) in the future.
Until next time friends…
